WHAT THE ALBUM IS ABOUT: Completely turning the tables on the genres that are expected from Cxi, Troy reaches into his pop / gospel / rock music bag of tricks and creates a style that really delivers some solid hit material again on this his fourth album. Unity is achieved by offering a variety of styles on this album, all with a single message. From uptempo pop and scorching rock guitar pieces to quiet piano and swelling strings, Living for Jesus (LFJ), brings home all of the qualities of his varied styles and allows for some dramatically beautiful, soul-searching ballads like 'Fill My Heart' and 'Just to Love You'. 'Jesus has always been the central theme, he has to be for all true Christian music. With the LFJ album, I just didn't want there to be any doubt so through each song the album is saturated in teaching, showing, examining, revealing, reflecting, and sharing Jesus Christ.' 'In order to illustrate this, I put the biblical passages where I derived inspiration for the songs in the liner notes, and on the lyric pages of my website. Just like parents read the ingredients and nutritional labeling on the back of a box of cereal, why should a parent do anything less for what their children put into their mind and spirit through the music they listen to? The wolf often hides in sheep's clothing.' WHAT THE MESSAGE IS ABOUT: 'I never forget that I was an audience of Christian music long before I was a producer of it as well. I have to relate to the artist and their message and I'm really struggling a lot lately with those who find popularity in delivering a positive message, but never let it go deeper than that and never mention Jesus name or the character of personage. I don't know how God called other's, but I know it was made clear for me that there would be no self-promoting songs - only songs about Jesus and I hope people are OK with that (though I know a manager wouldn't be). Yes, I love to hear good things about my music, I love to write songs for other Christian artists, and I would love to be able to live off of just writing music, but all of that stuff is way secondary to having someone hear and embrace Christ because of the messages in one of these songs -- everything else I do, my charity work, my regular church attendance, and yes even my music is totally in service to winning souls for the Kingdom of God. Anything less wouldn't be my 'reasonable service'.'
