Cultural Anthropology is the only book that integrates the important issues of globalization and culture change in every chapter as it introduces students to the concepts and methods that anthropologists bring to the study of cross-cultural diversity. Nancy Bonvillain, a best-selling author in linguistics, gender and Native American studies, has written an introductory textbook that encourages students to see what is going on in the world and how it affects cultures. By presenting extended examples from a variety of cultures and incorporating the voices of these peoples, she brings the study of cultural anthropology to life, so that students may come to understand the global processes that affect us all.
I used an early version of this textbook when I was a student years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the text and wanted an opportunity to review certain items. I haven't read the entire text as yet but plan on doing so during the winter.
Bought it for an Anthropology class. Has a lot of information but skips over some important factors. I intend to keep it in the long run though, for reference if I ever need to look anything up. Vocab are in the chapters which makes it easy to read along and understand.
Love it. It is perfectthere are no flaws and it came a little late. But non the leas it was here before I Gog to far behind. It beats walking to the Librarry to get the book. So I can't complain too much. I am happy with the price and that there was nothing marked in the book. Which is great for me because I make marks so it is a lot less confusing this way
Very informative. It goes through the different cultures of the world for global awareness. I bought this book for my college class. I anticipate on keeping this book to refer to when traveling for to learn in depth about other people other than Americans.
