Its very likely that you already know what the movie Cujo is about. Perhaps you have already seen the film or you have at least heard about the rabid dog that goes around killing people. Cujo has been compared to the movie Jaws, and although Jaws is in its own category of greatness the movie Cujo does resemble some of the same character. The biggest difference between Jaws and Cujo is that I found myself being sympathetic towards Cujo. I felt sorry for Cujo...and as he transforms into a ravenous beast It becomes disturbing and almost unbearable to watch. This amplifies the thrill of this film, and is probably why this film is so successful. This film will leave an impression on you, and at certain moments might make you sit up in your chair a bit. I just want to comment on the dvd quality...expect adequate widescreen dvd quality, however this dvd has no extra features or special qualities to it. Its a pretty basic dvd. Cujo is a very enjoyable and satisfying thriller. Its bloody, and gruesome, but not "limbs getting chewed off" style. In my opinion this dvd is worth buying for not much over 10$ on ebay, to any thriller/horror movie fan.Read full review
Here's where I stand on the animal issue; I don't want to see an animal hurt, but I'm not going to allow an animal to sleep in my home. That being said, I felt sorry for Cujo in this movie. A young family of 3 is having marital problems, because of the woman's affair and because of the man's long working hours. He's not much of a man anyway, if you ask me. What "man" drives a luxury sports car, while his wife drives a "pile of junk", condemned, Pinto. All things considered, that's enough to drive even the most loyal enthusiast into the arms of another man. Did I forget to mention that he's this top level executive, who seems to neglect full financial responsibility? Anyway, although the affair is probably mostly his fault, he becomes bitter and they spend more and more time apart. After Cujo gets bitten by a rabid bat, he embarks on a gradual, but complete change. The residents at the home are either killed by Cujo or gone. On an outing to get the Pinto fixed, mother and son meet Cujo head on. With nobody home and the car not working, it's the very, very fragile mother and son against monstrous, mountainous Cujo in a battle for survival. They don't need any more problems, when Tad, their young son, is so traumatized by the carnage that he starts having seizures. An unsuspecting cop comes out to investigate, under the advice of her husband, believe it or not, and Cujo makes easy work of him. Her son's illness and near death experiences push up the time table for survival, as she has no choice but to become even more desperate and take more chances. This will pay off for them in the end and the end seems to point to the family getting back together again. I won't spoil it.Read full review
I watched this movie a long time ago. It's a great movie. Keeps you on the the edge of your seat. I wanted to own a copy so I can continue to watch it as many times as I want. It came in on time. I'm going to be watching it again this weekend.

Donna Trenton is a frustrated suburban housewife whose life is a turmoil after her husband learns about her having an affair. Brett Camber is a young boy whose only companion is a Saint-Bernard named "Cujo", who in turn is bitten by a rabid bat. Whilst Vic, Donna's husband is away on business, and thinking over his marital troubles, Donna and her 5-year-old son Tad take her Pinto to Brett Cambers' dad's car shop, the car fails, and "Cujo" is very, very sick. What is great about Cujo is how it shows the dog coming unravelled. We see the transformation from lovable family dog, to vicious killing machine that has an insatiable need for blood. It is understood that Cujo has to have a happy hollywood ending, and that is fine, but the book tells a much more clear yet paradoxically involved tale of a boy, his dog, and how sin is never really forgiven. Cujo is a great movie. It is scary and has a point. It does a good job of bringing King's vision to life. A movie that tells you that your demons will come back to haunt you.Read full review
What a great film, it is one of Stephen King's adaptions I still love. I got this movie for a great price, the movie is very entertaining to a point. I think it could have had a better story to it, if 35 minutes where not spent on just the dog attacking the car. The only problem I had with the film was I am such a huge dog lover, and watching the dog suffer through the different stages of rabies, was very hard to watch. A movie with a message , protect your pets.
