XLS series are amazing amps for any use, lightweight, durable, and more power than you'll probably ever need with crossover options for high pass and low pass biamping, the end all amp for my needs, period. They do wear the crown in my opinion, best amp for your money. What more could any real audio enthusiast ask for?

I bought the 1502 based on other reviews and I am not disappointed. The internal. Crossover setup is very easy and solved my low frequency amp requirements. Its part of my home 2 channel setup. McIntosh c33 and mr78 JBL 4350's MC7270 amp. Direct to Hi Crown 1502 with x-over set at >250 connected to L/R woofers (x4)

The unit is designed with alot a flexibility. It just lacks abit of imaging. I was expecting more than I should have. Small, powerful, runs cool and inexpensive. I wished I had a need to use the crossover features. Give it a try.

Downsizing from my heavy pro power amps - this is a lightweight minimal depth standard 19" rackmount unit. I was surprised they had RCA inputs but and XLR but I would have preferred the XLR / 1/4" combo - assume the RCA is the expectation of just DJ / home stereo? So far so good .... hoping it lasts

This was my fifth Crown professional amplifier purchase since late 2017 but have owned and enjoyed Crown power amplifiers since late 1970s. I own four Crown XTi1002 professional power amplifiers for use in a 14-channel 11-horsepower multimedia playback system. Bought the XLS1502 new late last year at a sale price to drive a large electrostatic center speaker in mono/bridge mode. Big selling points were its RCA inputs (XTi series have balanced in/out only), Class D efficiency (>95% load dependent), small size, Crown sound. This system is AC electricity limited until I get it required for multiple 240 VAC outlets. Electrostatic speakers are tough loads for all amplifier types and are generally power starved - they can accept prodigious power inputs as long as it “clean” (low distortion). The Crown XLS 1502 has been perfect for my application. Sound is very detailed and “forward” for human voice (principal sound from center speaker) - the XLS series amp is “brighter” in sound quality than the XLi series amps but this is easily controlled either at the AV preamp/receiver or by tweaking the XLS amp’s DSP. Highly recommended. Crown Professional power amplifiers have never disappointed me in almost 50 years of music reproduction. Fantastic technology (my five Crown power amps deliver 7000 audio Watts and dissipate 30 Watts each in waste heat at idle and dissipate about 500 Watts each (120 VAC at 11.3 Amperes at high clip) in waste heat when driving five electrostatic speakers at high clip (near the threshold of pain for human hearing) and truly top one percent sound (I have tried dozens of power amplifier types in my system - tubes, Class A, hybrids, Class AB, Class B) - the Crowns sound the best with electrostatic speakers and can survive the “drive”.Read full review
