Very funny! Typical droll British sense of humor. It's interviews with folks combined with witty claymation characters. The topic: explain the Christmas carol: 12 Days of Christmas. The claymation characters were a perfect fit. My favorite was the two dogs reobviously two presenting a couple cool guys on the street. They do a hip-hop version of the song. Real people are funnier than actors. The program keeps moving from one scene to another and each scene is extremely well done in detail and background scenery. The creators had to have an awful lot of fun making this. I watched it and the immediately watched it again. Then later on, got a cup of coffee, a cookie and watched it all over again. Everyone needs a good laugh (sometimes at ourselves!) - I recommend this.
My adult daughter and I saw this clay animation piece when it first aired, and we nearly called 9-1-1 we were laughing so hard. It's brilliant with (often very dry) humor and became a *must* for our entire family to view when we'd all be together. [Note: We're all adults except for two babes-in-arms.] So I shopped around to find it for this year's Christmas gathering and, true enough, we had a ball watching it--again for us and for the first time for the others. The creature characterizations of all sorts of people--their foibles, attitudes, mis/perceptions, relationships and clay feet--are priceless. Love, love, love it!
Great dvd. I really enjoy creature comforts and the uniqueness of each animal character. It really brings to life the thought process and funny personalities of people in an animal's world. I watch the Xmas edition every year and look forward to watching it again this year. Although children may love the characters, I'm not sure they'd get the humor but it is clean and nothing naughty or nasty. It's just all around great entertainment for all...LOVE IT!!!!
I fell in love with Creature Comforts from a Netflix order and really wanted to buy a copy to keep. My search on ebay found this "Christmas" edition, and I just had to have it. I will buy the other versions soon. Creature Comforts videos are smart, hysterical, very well produced, and sure to become classics. What a great find!
If you loved anything made by Aardeman, you'll love this short based on the interview format used in "Creature Comforts". Each animal has a different story to tell about the subject of Christmas in a variety of English accents that some people might have trouble understanding. Its a great stocking stuffer for the animation fan in your family.
