For what I use it for, the Zen Micro is a pretty good mp3 player. While it is usually not a good idea to take hard drive based mp3 players out running, the Zen Micro performs just fine. The controls, while inititally a bit confusing, are easily mastered and the software does what its supposed to. However, I have experienced defective headset jacks in all of the 3 units I have used. By rotating or pressing the headphone jack while it is in the player I have experienced sound distortion to the point where the music is nearly unrecognizable. While I am running this isn't such a problem as I keep the player in my hand, but when I'm walking, I can't have it in my pocket w/o also holding on to it. Kinda annoying. That having been said, it looks cool, stores more than enough music and has great battery life. Just make sure it works properly.Read full review
They invented the MP3 player....making it very easy to use and download from most computers....unless its a propriety type(right now France is suing apple over such propriety).Since Creative doesn't spend a ton of money on trendy Ads, the savings is passed on to us...a great deal.My daughter has the ZEN PHOTO and is the envy of her circle.Creative is fast on any problems and easy to contact. My ZEN player is used on constRuction sites with the Travel Dock and I don't have to worry about cds.Its built strong.Do consider this value and try not to be blindly drawn into becoming an "I SHEEP".
The Good: Built-in FM tuner/recorder; voice recorder; excellent sound quality; a wide array of color choices; removable battery; built-in PIM syncs with Outlook; compatible with subscription-based online music services. The Bad: Touch-pad navigation won't impress everyone; records voice and FM tuner in WAV format only; no dedicated volume control. The bottom line: The colorful and versatile Zen Micro will make lots of users happy.
This is a great MP3 player. I ordered it because I have one just like it that was getting a few problems the earphone connection. I cannot seem to transfer files to/from this player (probably a software problem), but Pat sent all the accessories, including earbuds, and that solved my problem. I now have a spare player to use for charging batteries - nice. If my old one totally gives out, I'll pursue the file transfer problem more. I realize this is a product review, but Pat (pksellsstuff) treated me VERY WELL with this purchase. The Post Office lost it for ~3 weeks and he had them track it down and then re-shipped it to me. Also, he advised me about the file transfer problem. I would definitely buy this player again, and would buy anything from him again.
