I purchased the Crate CA125DG Guitar Amp Combo on eBay for $330.00 with free shipping. That was the best part. It was a display unit; so, it was not exactly new. But, it had not been retailed and used. This unit generally retails between $499.00 and $599.00. I have said all this because the price I paid helps to make my overall satisfaction with this amp very, very good. The versatility of the amp is what I wanted. It takes multiple instruments and mics at once, has lots of sound effects, two effects foot switch, sufficient outputs for PA, etc., and adequate volume for a pretty good size room. I wish it had a head phone jack that allowed playing and listening with no output from the amp's speakers. I am learning to use it. I suppose a person has to learn how to get the best results out of a particular amp. At first I had feedback issues, etc. I found that having my guitar and mic to close to the amp caused most of the feedback and hums. I have now eliminated those issues and have become very, very happy with the amp. I have noticed that after playing it for several hours it has gotten sweeter. Please review the manufacturer’s specifications for a complete detailing of the features and specs. JoeRead full review
The thing I like most about the amp is the sound. I have always though crate acoustic amps have a very nice sound. I play only acoustic guitar, and have never been pleased with the sound of the other 5 brands of amps I have used. I don't care what others may like or dislike. I know what sounds right to me. I have a very keen ear and am very particular about acoustic sound. The amp has ample power to do a small club type venue, and I use it for a PA also as it is so equipped. It has ample effects, and plenty of controls for eq etc. although I judge it by ists dry sound which suits me to a T.
