I owned one for several years, and sold it when I was "cleaning house" of too many guitars...however, I may buy another. Terrific sound and very versatile in many genres...BUT...This model has crappy tuners where the tuning button wears out,and suddenly just spins...you can't tune that string. I was able to purchase a set of three inline tuners for the treble side from Cordoba for about $20+. However, the guy I sold it to complained "it's a bitch to tune", so he probably needs the other side. All of these problems seem to be inherent with this guitar, as I have have a very good and knowledge friend who is the acoustic guitar sales mgr at a local Sam Ash who confirmed the same issue with these guitars at his store.

I have read all the wonderful reviews about the GK Studio Negra and must agree with most of them. The issue of fret buzz is minor and actually expected from a Flamenco style guitar. Thats part of the style of play. A little buzzing actually helps give it that slightly rough feel. My only concern is that the bridge on this model does not come with a compensated micro tuned saddle and thus the G string is a little out of whack once you reach the 8th fret or so. By the 12th is completely gone. So this of course means I will have to micro tune it myself or buy an already compensated saddle. D string also sounds a bit empty on higher frets. But I love the sound of the last two strings (A& E) when playing ligados and such. And you can really pick up speed playing picado on higher notes.

i got mine as a blemish model at a big discount. its a great guitar, worth far more than i paid. it has a great neck, very comfortable, not too hard to play or too wide. i had to put a small groove under the 4 big strings at the saddle with a small file to lower the action slightly..loose each string some, do it one at a time... ..i used a small file....be sure to smooth the side of the cut and to cut the groove slightly downward and forward..dont go too deep...go slow...it only needs a small cut, not too deep now..! ..put some pencil lead in the slots before you tighten the strings back up..if you need lower action than that repeat process but i doubt you will need to... some people might like the action as it comes.....i like to whiz about so i need pretty low easy action....if you are going to play flamenco and beat on the guitar then i would play it as it comes new.. i also had to slightly file the sides of the nuts slots, they were hanging up the strings and making them go sharp...this took about 10 minutes, good results...be sure to cut the slot slightly downward and flare out cut on the edge of the nut towards the headstock...so the string can freely vibrate. i experience no hang up now. the electric pickup/mic thing works nicely, you can dial in how much of the internal mic that you want. dont leave the tuner turned on or it will run your battery down.. the tuner seems fairly accurate but is not what you would call a precision mechanism. the guitar has amazing tone and volume for its size,. i play bossa nova on it, after i made the above adjustments mine is a real pleasure to play. the action is low and perfect, no buzz. the guitar is super light weight and it has a huge resonance and volume. the tuners works nicely now. i did slightly tighten the truss rod when i first got the guitar to lower the action some..i have it set with very little relief.. i am playing the original strings, they are the kind that you tie behind the bridge, i do not know how to tie the strings so i will play these strings till they break or die and then maybe i will change to ball end strings.. the neck is smaller slightly than a standard classical and it does not fatigue your hand so bad, still it is not for small handed people. i just love this guitar , each time i pick it up .it plays easily up past the 12th fret. the only problem i have is , sometimes i use a pick and if you drop a pick down the hole, then it is really hard to get the pick out due to all the bottom braces holding the pick down in the body. i play it thru a small fender acoustasonic amp and it gets a great smooth soulful sound, i use a dyna comp on it too.. it comes with a very nice guitar bag ,custom fit..not cheap junk.Read full review

I haven't put this guitar down since it arrived. Very fun to play. I was going to buy one of the top of the line $$$$ flamenco guitars and I got this one as a blem as it had discoloration of the fretboard which I don't even notice. The tones I get out of it are insane from buttery soft tone to a more bright crisp feel depending on how I attack a riff. I am very happy and will probably buy one more for my office. I have a collection of high end guitars and this was a great find. It's a beautiful looking guitar and I love the built in tuner. The action is low and I love the fast neck. No buzz. I noodle anything from gypsy kings to yngwie and my chops are really improving.
