So let me start by saying I really like this camera. It has some really nice mounts, and it's dead simple to use. It has a few small issues though. Using the handle bar mount, the camera's battery will shift around and disconnect. Sometimes this will corrupt the video file in the middle of the recording. The fix to this is to take a couple of strips of gaffer's tape or something similar and attach the to the sides of the battery. The helmet mount works flawlessly. The Bluetooth integration is AWESOME. I can set the modes on my camera, as well as start and stop recording from my phone while seeing the field of view. You can rotate the lens so you don't have to rotate the video later-this is also a major plus. It's super easy to start and stop recording; you just slide the switch and the camera automatically records until the battery dies or the memory card fills up, or you slide the switch back. It also automatically starts recording the .gpx file from the integrated GPS module, which you can export or inset into your video using Contour's Storyteller application. Sadly, you can't export this as a video file, you have to share it somewhere (and deal with size limitations). Overall, I really dig this camera. It's cheaper than a GoPro, more aerodynamic, and the mounts are easy to use and secure. I love the Bluetooth and GPS data, but some limitations in the software prevent you from doing some pretty cool things. Battery life is decent, I can get over 3 hours of recording time generally.Read full review
i lost my original plus2, left it on top of the car and drove off. this is a replacement to that. i looooved it! it was great for skiing when i had to put the hood on, it still was working from the side. go pro had to come off. i gave it 4/5 for picture only because the gopro is so much better now, but when this came out, it was better than the hero2 by a mile. i love the GPS feature, as a former ski racer, i love showing how i can hot 60 prettyquickly. with Dashware you can get g forces, all kinds of overlays. great for the geek. also GREAT for dashcams as its go the wide angle, and gps embedding. i am always i cruise control so it shows when people harass me, or brake check me, its clearly them being drama queens and creating the situation, as i am just moving along at 70. i already have 4 places ionside and out of my car that i have superglued attachments, so this will be easy to fit back into the camera rotation. the gps lock happens so fast i love it. i highly recommend the ultra charge cavble, it keeps you from swapping batteries, which eventually ruins them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEviP03aE7cRead full review
easy to use, gps great feature, good battery life, good file sizes to get a lot of video per card, gps can be slow to start at times, mic picks up a good bit of wind noise, not water proof without case. smaller profile than gopro when mounted.
Nice and simple with good IQ. Good battery life. I've always liked the ability to turn the lens to desired angle. Bluetooth and GPS works well. The only real issue I have is not being able to view playback video via Bluetooth. Only settings can be adjusted via Bluetooth
