For me, Congregation shares the "Best Afghan Whigs Album" title with Gentlemen. It is an excellent album with some of Dulli´s best lyrics and McCollums best guitar work. McCollums wah-wah on Turn on the Water is endlessly cool as well as his beautiful solo on Let Me Lie to you. McCollum is a vastly underrated guitarist, but he really shines on this record. But the star is of course Greg Dulli who, as always, delivers the goods. Overall, the record is the band´s most consistent alongside Gentlemen as well as being one of the best records ever put out by Sub Pop. Worth every cent. The version i bought was a Japanese import. It included an obi- strip and a lyric sheet in Japanese and english as well as an essay in Japanese about the band. There are no extra tracks on this version.
