This unit performs very well. Although I didn't use the video function, it provided crystal- clear analog audio from the HDMI input. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a power supply, only a micro USB cable, so you'll need to use an AC adapter like the ones used for charging smart phones, if you don't have anywhere else to plug it in. (I have a small amp with a USB port, so I was able to use that.) Other than that, (& the fact that I didn't test the video since I was using the unit only for the audio), I would recommend this unit for anyone who needs to convert an HDMI signal to an analog one. There is one caveat however: if you're using a 3D video signal, you'll be better off with a unit that has a "pass-through" output, instead of trying to split the signal first, as many distribution amplifiers won't pass a 3D video signal unaltered if the other output is going to a non 3D device. Other than that, if you need a good converter, this unit should do the job for you.Read full review

The Bad: It says "1080p" but you will never get anything over 480i over an rca connection. Additionally i plugged a streaming stick into it and it became quickly apparent that the device is not shielded very well. In other words it picked up a lot of noise from the stick's processor. Finally, the build quality reminds you of a kid's meal toy. It comes with a mini-usb cable (yes, mini not micro) and i was actually surprised the cable works. It's spaghetti thin. The Good: It works as claimed. I use it to show my phone display on a double-din head unit that has av inputs. It is also reasonably priced and simple to hook up.

Great compact product works fantastic! Although, it does require its own power source... That could be an issue as it is only supplied with a very short USB data cord... I chose to use a phone charger, that way I can hook an extension cord to it.. as the location is not near a computer or USB connection source... Or you could use a charging block to plug the USB into the data cord supplied and add an extension cord! that will also work. Other than that no issues. Ken

This was a very cheaply made piece of junk. The power cord is very short and thin, the box is junk. The thing weighs less than 3 ounces. Anyway I plugged the HDMI from my laptop to the converter. Plugged the av cables from the converter to my Sony Wega Trinatron TV. It does not work. I tried pal and NTSC settings, nothing bot horizontal colored lines, red, blue, green, yellow, black and so on, no sound, no picture. Tried my VCR same thing. This is junk don't waste your time. I just ordered the audiovox/RCA brand one for $10 more. It does not require a power supply. Its made better and has higher reviews, hopefully that will work out. Update- the RCA unit works great, its like watching regular tv or a movie, perfect sound and picture, no issues, no power cord needed works awesome, don't buy this junk, go with the RCA audiovox! Worth it. For the extra $10!Read full review
