Fell in love with Coby at Blockbuster video. They were promoting it, and a kindly plumply African American woman answered me some questions about it. A few months later I came across some funding and forthwith declared my bid and rightly won the prize. What's good about Coby? You're supposed to be able to view dvd's on a regular t.v. screen or computer monitor using "RCA cables" which have regular auxiliary cables on their opposite end. While I haven't done this yet, I'm assuming it works, and that's spectacular, since one of the problems with the Coby is that the small screen kills the epic feeling of larger than life movies, and even smaller than life movies. I've used the Coby on the Amtrak and in the bathtub. Spectacular setting! I'd wager it would be good for lunch breaks at a work place, shitting, and other related experiences. My only problem, besides the screen size which I understood before I purchased it, is that the audio is a little low when cranked to its highest. There may be a way to plug in speakers or something, I'm not sure and I haven't touched my Coby for a few days. But if you used your Coby as a DVD player via the RCA cables then the audio wouldnt be an issue. Similarly, the Coby came with little headphones, which more than likely are also louder than then Coby's default audio. I love movies and could watch several a day the way previous generations could read all day (not that I couldn't read all day). So the Coby is a good safety blanket for me. If I go crap during a movie, I can just bring the movie with. Cook and watch the movie. Dishes are too loud though with the Coby's soft voice...Read full review
I love how the dvd is very portable and small i fing the sound power to be low, especially in the car, but otherwise its ok. i decided to buy this because it was very cheap only $38 and was brand new so i was a great gift. I would recommend it if you didnt mind having a small portable dvd player but i would perfer using headphones... just my opinion. It has excellent video quality. Anyways good product overall
This player has a nice battery life and has a home and car charger in the box. It also has video outputs to hook it up to a TV or projector, and a remote control. It can also play MP3 CDs. The anti-skip feature is nice when using it in the car, wont jam up the movie watching. The case is pretty rugged too. The only downside is the DVD lid could open up more, so there is more space when loading/unloading a DVD and its too bad it doesnt have video inputs for the unit...to use it as a mini TV for a video game system.
great picture i hooked it up to a mini system i have with the audio out and it smokes. sounds great with headphones too . i wish it had a bass enhancer on it like a cd player-sony walkman etc.nice little unit . i'm not sure how long the batterie lasts though.overall great for me since my wife took the tv out and moved into another room leaving me high and dry. si without a tv i was miserable but now i can play cd 's and dvd[s in my room and that's great.
I got this strictly for our trip to florida. I have a 3 yr old and figured this would be a good distraction on the plane. I have heard some negative things about this dvd player but I couldn't have been happier.I had kind of expected a few glitches since it is on the cheaper side of dvd players but, it works great. The only thing was I thought the sound with the headphones on was a little quiet but my daughter did not seem to notice or care. Over all it was a great buy and I hope to use it on many more trips.
