Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui is a misleading title. It really mentions very little about feng shui. If that's your interest, you're better off with "The Western Guide to Feng Shui." However--this book is motivational and gives you the push to get rid of the "stuff" that has become useless in your life. Feng Shui teaches that stagnant piles of clutter inhibit energy flow, and this book follows that line of thinking. But "new age" isn't the only place you'll find such advice. Suze Orman, in "The Courgage to be Rich" also recommends getting rid of everything you don't either love or use. It's all about energy, and leftovers from the past block the flow. I enjoyed this book, and it did give me the needed shove to de-clutter my house. But I agree with some other reviewers in that it was a bit over the top when she got into subjects like colon cleansing. If you need a little help making yourself get rid of clutter that no longer serves a purpose in your life, read this book.Read full review
This was an excellent book that ties your physical clutter to your mental and emotional clutter. In a short time, Kingston helps you unearth the reasons behind your hanging on to things that bog you down and limit your freedom and energy. Practical advice on introductory feng shui, as well as a little psychoanalyses on why you hang on to what you do and advice on how to let go of the things that block your energy. Well written and easy to read, I would take a break between chapters to "clear my clutter" from different spots in my home. The book caused me to think of things I had kept and not used and inspired me to deal with them immediately! Getting rid of these things, as Kingston says in her book, allows space to open up and welcome more good into your life.
When I turned 50 I read thirty five feng shui books and got rid of half of my stuff. This little book was either number one or number 2 fave depending on the focus. I have bought and given away or loaned but not gotten back at least a dozen copies. I have it on my kindle also. It’s a classic. Read it.

I love this book and bought another copy for a friend. I have several books on Feng Shui by different authors, and although they are good, this is the best one I have read. Unless you clear your clutter first, you are defeating alot of your purpose using Feng Shui, it won't be nearly as effective. The other books I have read do not address this in the way that Karen Kingston does. It actually works and clears alot of clutter mentally as well as physically. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in improving their life and health. It is well worth reading.
I have never read a book on decluttering as Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui. I have gotten so much achieved and I have been able to let go of so much stuff that I could'nt before. This is a must have book for anyone struggling with a clutter problem.
