I have used similar devices before that cost less money and they did work but broke easy or were really designed for one time use, enter the rigid power spin, it has the same pistol grip handle as the other but with a locking lever instead of having to loosen then pull more snake then tighten repeat, it self feeds the line with minimal assistance. The device is rated for low rpms so I just set my cordless drill on low and got to it, I used it on a tub and had to go through the service hole rather than the drain, I also used it on a main line for a sink after taking the pea trap off. My next use is to try and free up a washing machine drain. For the cost of this item and its durability its a 5 star rated product all the way.

This tool MORE than paid for itself the first time I used it. I was quoted an insane price of over $200 dollars to clear a kitchen sink drain. This was AFTER a $56 dollar "discount" was applied. I refused to pay that. I went to rent an electric hand held drain snake. The store recommended the Ridgid drain cleaner. It can be used with a drill or hand cranked. I took it home and simply turned it by hand. I cleared the drain in less than 30 minutes. I liked to crank it by hand so I could feel if it would bind up on turns or bends. I met some resistance one time and was able to ease it through. I love the automatic feed feature. A less expensive one that I had did not have that feature. Since my old unit was kinked, it wouldn't work, which is why I decided to call someone in the first place. The nice thing is that for a few dollars over a rental price, I have my own cleaner which I can use again and again. It has already paid for itself. Ridgid is a good brand and it is well made and does its job effectively. You can buy something cheaper but it will not measure up to the quality you get here and it wont have the features of this unit. The one I had was a cheap "throw away" and that is what I ended up doing with it. Invest in a quality tool and it will pay off in the long-run.Read full review

I managed to clean my house pipes with this device paying less money than I would have paid for a plumber and still have the ability to use it in the future very easy to use

Hold the trigger down and spin it either direction to extend or retract the cable while spinning. The handle can be removed so a drill can be attached and operated in LOW drill speed so the cable won't get kinked. Not like the other augers that you have to manually move the cable by hand. This is the ONLY one you will need.

This can be a little cumbersome, but it does what its suppose too. Pretty easy to interchange for drill use... I have used this for cleaning out gutters and drains.
