The RGB model adds blue to the red and green of the previous model which dramatically improves the versatility of the fixture. Channel assignments are the same, just an increase in the number of laser options to choose from. What you have are three lasers and two rotation motors running opposed to one another. Each rotation motor has a speed and direction channel and a 'stutter' channel. It's the motors that create the patterns. There is a channel which allow the selection of any of the pre-programmed patterns or manual DMX control if you want to create your own. When in manual mode, the lasers are controlled by one channel which selects various combinations of red, red strobing, green, green strobing, blue, and blue strobing in every possible combination. Another channel provides the strobe rate for a total of seven DMX channels. While you can control them with an analog DMX controller, it's very hard to dial in the settings you want. You really want a digital controller where you can program the exact settings you want. Then you can build up complex sequences on the controller's chases. With sound activation built in, can also use it in automatic mode for a constantly changing effect. Keep in mind, that lasers should not be directed at people because of potential harm to eyes so this isn't for dance floor or band lighting--you want to use it on walls or ceilings where the effect can be seen. Also, lasers, in general, are great with fog or haze. The backpanel programming takes a little getting used to with the cryptic codes, but once you get the hang of it, is really quite simple. You can program it for auto patterns, sound activated patterns, random patterns, or DMX. I would suggest that you'll want to have several to maximize the effect (really you can't have too many). These are pretty powerful and will completely fill a pretty large room. We use photostand adapters to attach them to standard photostands as an inexpensive way to rig them--works perfectly.Read full review

Once I figured out its DMC codes, it fit quite nicely in my mobile DJ show. From subtle additions to my scenes, to plain ol' WOW ... I highly recommend it! Not a DMX fan? The built-in scenes and remote control are fun too.

I thought it was going to be a bit more powerful. This Laser is ok but not as powerful as I hoped it would be.
