I used this carb as a replacement on a 8hp Briggs & Stratton on my wood splitter. It was an easy install. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was a slight bit taller than the original. Maybe 2 or 3 mm. Other than that it was identical. The engine started right up after installation. I had to adjust the main jet a little bit, but that should be expected with any carb replacement. I have run this carb about 8 hours total and it still preforms as expected. I would recommend it highly. It's almost as inexpensive as a carb rebuild kit and a LOT less work!

Very poorly made. It ran worse than my original one. When I attempted to adjust the needle valve it wedged in the valve seat and unscrewed the seat instead of opening the valve. I had to open it up and reset the seat that was probably not tight to begin with. Still ran terrible. I adjusted my original carburator, got it running well and this piece of junk went in the bin. Not worth the effort to return it.

I bought this carb to put on a 8hp briggs and stratton. It started right up and then stopped. Pulled head to find one of the choke plate screws embedded in the piston top after screwing up the intake valve seat. I currently have the motor torn down for repair. The throttle plate and choke plate screws are NOT PEENED OVER NOR LOCTITED, beware!

The carb does work but need to be modified. First the air intake diameter is to large. I had to file the outside diameter to get my air intake to fit. Next the long needle valve is cheaply made. the old carbs have a metal to metal contact for the needle valve to seat on ant this on uses a small rubber o-ring. I am not sure ho long this will last. Mating surfaces are not deburred correctly. Right now the engine runs but very disappointed in the quality of this carburetor.

Not as good as oem but with a lot of tinkering you can get them to work. This is my second one for the same machine as they are made of cheap alloy and are NOT precision made. I suggest just rebuild your original carb.
