Could not find exact kit for my (12yr old) carb found the dimensions of this kit and ordered it knowing it was close to mine, enough of the parts fit to make my carb run like new. the plastic pickup tube was about 1/8" too long I could have trimmed it to fit but opted to use the old one which worked out fine. Very satified

The needle valve works great. However, the port on the large white piece, directly above the needle valve (where the fuels comes in), would not fit, it was too large. Also, the tiny o-ring that goes around the jet was a bit too large. It sheared in half when I tried to insert it. I had to mix and match new and old parts, which is not why I purchased a rebuild kit. To top it off, the mower won't start. It acts like it's not getting any gasoline although the bowl is full and the solenoid works. Most likely, the bowl gasket is not sealing and it's sucking in air.

I ordered this kit because I needed to replace a broken fuel inlet o-ring and a worn needle valve to resolve a Nikki carburetor model # 795873 that was leaking fuel into a 21 HP B&S Platinum engine when not running. The carb is installed on a Craftsman YTS3000 Lawn Tractor (Model 917.289223). This kit is advertised as a "Master Overhaul" kit for Nikki carbs, but falls woefully short of living up to this claim. I've detailed below the issues I encountered: 1) No fuel inlet o-ring is provided — despite this being the one of the most common causes of a carb that passes fuel into the engine while not running, and one of the most frequently replaced components next to the needle valve. 2) The body of the needle valve provided is housed in a metal jacket rather than the plastic casing found on my original. At first this seemed a nice upgrade. However, I found during installation that the new metal-jacketed needle valve body is actually slimmer in diameter than the old needle valve, allowing the needle body to sit off-kilter in the carb valve body, making it impossible to function properly. 3) The kit comes with a new plastic carb valve body, and I found that the new needle valve would align properly in the narrower passage of the new valve body. I therefore attempted to install the new valve body on my carb, but found that the molded casing for the fuel pickup tube was either manufactured slightly undersized or was slightly off-center from my pickup tube, making it impossible to seat. 4) The float valve pin is open-ended, compared to my original float valve pin which has flats on one end to facilitate removal and to enable the pin to slide out in only one direction. Not a deal-breaker, just an additional hassle to keep the pin in position while re-assembling the float valve. 5) The included main jet was of a different size than that original to my carb, and would not seat in the aforementioned carb valve body despite using generous amounts of O-ring Silicone Lubricant to facilitate installation. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to snap any photos illustrating the above issues due to my highly aggravated state while attempting to repair my carb. Take my word for it, don't buy this kit if you're looking for a replacement fuel inlet o-ring for Nikki Carb #795873 or a needle valve for any other Nikki carb that uses one with a plastic body. I found that the the proper plastic-bodied needle valve replacement for my carb is available under Briggs & Stratton P/N 696136, while the Float Bowl Gasket & Fuel Inlet O-ring are available in a Briggs & Stratton Kit P/N 698781.Read full review

The two smaller o-rings, one for the main jet and the other for fuel inlet passage, do not fit where intended. Neither the float, nor the float pivot pin were correct either. Some other small parts may be usable, but I was not able to determine for sure yet. I only used the larger o-rings and gaskets to get my mower running again. This kit did include more parts than the manufacturers rebuild kit, but for what good if the parts don't fit? Overall, I would not recommend this particular product as a replacement for the original manufacturer's Briggs and Stratton 796184 CARB OVERHAUL kit.

Before you buy this kit, look closely at the float bowl gasket. There are two versions and this version, while close, did not match mine even though the model number on my carb sent me to this kit. Also, the fuel tube has a longer piece on the bottom making it not fit my application. The kit has lots of extra parts for different applications and looks like an excellent kit for the proper carb.
