I bought this as we were going on a couple of cruises and I did not want to take my expensive DSLR and worry about losing it. With the powerful zoom, we got great shots at scenery that was at a distance. We have gone out at home with both cameras and when uploading the pictures, there is no difference in quality. The only problem with this camera is the battery life. If you put it on creative shot and leave it there, the battery is gone in an hour or less. So, make sure you have extra batteries. Even being out for a day of sightseeing and taking pictures. you will need to replace the battery. It is small enough to carry around in my purse and an easy camera to use. We are very happy with it.

I like this camera, BUT since it's so important for me to be out in the mountains in the winter, I am greatly disappointed that the battery dies very quickly on winter hikes. On my last hike, I didn't get to take one photo before it gave me the message: "recharge battery." I put in a 2nd battery that was in my pants pocket (warm) and I received the same message. Sooooo disappointing. Also was difficult to set up downloading photos using WIFI.

I have been looking for this type of point and shoot camera for a long time. I read the reviews on this particular camera. They were very good reviews, I agree. lots to learn. There are several functions. However, the battery life cut out on me at a party. too many videos may have tired it down. This not a complaint against the camera itself. The audio and video functions are very good. Easy to use. My favorite feature is the video button. Press 'on' and its on! I recommend this camera for its simplicity and quality. Make sure it has a full charge, take the charger with you.

I have a bridge camera with a 50X zoom but it is heavy and bulky. This was a recommended camera and was happy to get it at a good price. I had a charger at home, so no extra cost output required. I am familiar with Canon usage, so many buttons were familiar. I got the manual on line to see other and new features. I prefer using a view finder, so this is a learning curve for me particularly for keeping camera stable on distance shots, but it is becoming easier. I like the zoom and images are pretty clear. On a large screen monitor, however, it looks pretty pixelated unless at max dpi.

Great little pocket camera! I bought this as a step down for the 720hs I have thinking I'll use this one at the beach and not have to worry so much about messing up my brand new 720hs. Well this idea back fired because I find my self valuing this one just as much as the 720hs and I'm not using it in the way I was intending to because I don't want to mess it up too. Be sure to spend the extra money and get a fast SD card if you are going to use the burst mode a lot. It seems to take about 20 shots before the memory is saturated and the rate slows a bit but not by much.
