Image quality is good! Hard to tell what’s in focus on the microscopic LCD; RAW files are a little challenging to work with but so far I’m enjoying this little relic. Hoping to experiment with some prints soon, how big is a 4mp photo? Point and shoots of this time period look really funny but the G2 resembles its 35mm cousins much more. Also this thing kills batteries quick, my 40d takes the same BP-511 batteries and lasts way longer. So far I’m pleased

I selected this Canon G2 camera modified for IR camera because I used to use normal G2 camera for my job in the past. It worn out after taking some thousands of pictures. Now I am doing IR photography using Sigma SD14 which is easily convert to IR camera by removing an optical filter right behind of the lens. But such SD14 camera requires an IR filter right in front of the lens to take IR photos. And focusing image is just doing guess type of focus adjustment with the IR black color filter. Now Canon PowerShot G2 converted to IR camera has an IR filter right on the sensor so that autofocus mode works for all of mode of the camera including finder observation on target to shoot. This seller is so knowledgeable person of the camera and IR photos so that explained me in details of both the camera and the IR photo color modification on the resulted photos. He is such a kind and helpful person I have never seen in my experience with eBay. The camera has only 4.0 Megapixels which is not much in these days, however, it is more than enough pixels for IR photography. Because IR right makes soft on forcus so that it is just good amount of pixel to compose photos that the seller knows, too. If I had enough time, I could explain more on the IR camera. It made possible to hand held shooting on IR photos using very robust camera. Sorry, my time is up. So long, Kunihiko Sano ca1822inRead full review
Pro:f2.0 lens, low used price, cheap battery and last very long, movie shot, decent photo quality, shoot & focus fast, internal flash and tilt screen, use CF memory card, can use with a mounting flash. Con: very heavy, small screen, have to switch to review to see pictures and movie shot only last 15 seconds then it has to be started again, maximum CF capacity is 2GB and camera is only 4.0MP. Overall, not a practical camera to carry in every occasion. OK for beginner who wants to learn how to use a digital camera.
Great camera with lots of the original things that came with it. Works great! I wish it had been noted that there was not a charger included.

I bought one of these when they were $500, used it for years, then sold it on eBay. This year I bought another example of it on eBay, in execellent shape, for $60. In the meantime I have had many digital cameras, from a Nikon SLR to several Conon digital ELPH's, to other high-end Canon non-SLR digital Canons. The G2 can hold its own against any of them unless you are going to do big prints (more than 8X10) or big blow-ups. What many people forget is thatwith all cameras it is the lens that really counts and the G2 has an excellent and fast lens...something that is mssing in sub-$300 (new) point and shoot cameras. It is also built like a tank, has a real viewfinder window and that great swivel LCD screen. Any of the G series canons are great cameras and at under $100 for a nice used one, an absolute steel.Read full review
