I happen to own 4 digital cameras at this price point and with similar specs. They are Basic point and shoots from the makers: Sony, Nikon, HP, and the Canon. My canon has the highest mgpix, but only by 2 over the rest. I have not enlarged photos off the canon, but would expect a slightly sharper print. Pictures on my monitor from it are very nice quality. There is little shortage with menu for this price range camera. Although, Me and Canon has never been on the same page as to the logic in placement and usage of words for their tools. I don't know if that is a statement you will hear from the majority of their new customers or just me. My other 3 cameras navigate me through the menu with much better understanding. I paid around $35.00 for it and feel that the used camera, which has no problems and shoots very nice pics.Read full review
This Canon is an excellent camera for the money. It is easy to use and an easy size/design to handle. It uses two AA batteries for power, so carry an extra couple of them with you. In my opinion, Canon makes the best lenses, which is the heart of any camera. You get a big bang for the buck with this handy, dandy unit.
The small size and capability make this camera a winner in everything I use a camera for. The higher pixel count produces great pictures, even built up to larger sizes. Capability to make short movies is nice, so long as a large enough SD memory is used. I chose a 2gb SD for most situations. I am very pleased with the 3 Canon A470 cameras I have purchased and used or given away. My friends have enjoyed using them, too. Rechargeable batteries last longer than previous cameras I used. The software that comes with the new camera makes downloading pictures a snap and very easy.
For me this should be WAY more expensive. It's just an amazing camera. It the following amazing features: - Autofocus - Light control - Supermacro (you can take pictures from 1 mm distance and get everything in great detail) - Image quality It's easy enough to use but is not those 10 dollar camera that has only 3 options. So it has a lot of options but not that much to confuse. I always thought this camera should be much more expensive. After 4 years of use and more than 20.000 pictures taken, mine decided not to work anymore. And guess what... I bought exactly the same one! Enjoy!
An outstanding and very cool stylish unit that punches above its weight picture quality wise and built like a hard plastic Sherman Tank! Putting it in Manual mode with the "V" Vivid setting on will blow your mind for a $20-$30 easy to use point and shoot camera. And all while saving a bit of memory/band width on the computer because of it's 7.1 megapixels. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for less than 8x10 pics, indoors or out!
