Print quality is good, although not Steller. I like the multi cartridges as opposed to the all in one, much cheaper and easier to change out one color then the whole ink cassette. I especially like the two tray system so that I can run two types of paper interchangeably with out having to constantly change my paper trays.

This is my third or fourth Cannon printer MX 700 series. They are efficient, economical to operate with the individual ink bays so you only have to replace the ink that you use, not the whole multi ink systems. I also like the two paper holders so that I can switch back and forth with the different papers I use for my applications without constantly having to load the different papers. These are great printers, I just hope that I can continue finding them as I wear them out!

This printer is a fantastic buy for a small office or a home setting with multiple users needing access to a printer/scanner/copier/fax. Currently our MX700 is on a home network serving 4 regular users. The included software makes setup easy. Our network has both PC's and a Mac (there is also mac software on the Canon website). The included software for the desktop is very adequate. I researched quite a bit, before this purchase. So many printers eat you alive with the cost of fueling their thirst for ink. The MX700 uses individual color (4) cartridges, which means no ink is wasted in a multiple color cartridge. In addition, with a little research the cartridges are very refillable by the user - really reducing cost per page. We've only used HP's thus far... but this Canon is by far the best inkjet that I have owned.Read full review
NEW REVIEW 5/1/20... I purchased this CANON MX700 printer in 2006 and I NEVER had any problems with it...gorgeous photo prints on photo paper, great B&W text on documents.SEPARATE INKS....fabulous scans, easy to set up and a true workhorse, Well IT IS NOW 2020 and the printer just finally PASSED AWAY. Still looks great sitting on my table next to my...yes..2006 DELL PC THAT STILL WORKS!!!..but like aging humans is beginning to slow down and needs more TLC before it BITES THE DUST. SIMPLE STORY:..THEY DO NOT MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE!!! I will NEVER get 14 years out of today's TECHNOLOGY. IF YOU CAN STILL FIND ONE OF THESE GEMS...BUY IT!

I bought this because of the excellent reviews. It hasn't let me down. The c/m/y/k inks can be bought individually, eliminating the need to buy all colors when just one runs out. It does need regular printing, as most printers, to keep the heads from getting clogged. Mine wouldn't clear after soaking and cleaning for days. I bought a used one for $25 and it proved to be a much cheaper option than spending $50-$100 for a new head. Love this printer, just make sure you try and print 1x a week, even if it's just a nozzle check, to keep it from clogging.
