The Canon PIXMA MP160 is an older model of the Canon PIXMA line and it uses Canon No. 40 and 41 ink cartriges (which are getting harder to find). The printer does a very good job of printing on both paper and photo stock, and accomodatesm all usual sizes. It is especially good at printing on heavy paper stock (like cardstock) because it does not bend the paper very much as it feeds past the print head; this saves wear and tear on the gears of the paper feeder. It is very durable and quite long-lived in service. I have used two of these, and will replace my current one with another, if they are still available on the used market.

Existing MP 160 needs to be repaired. My wife is used to the one we have and doesn't like change. Nice to be able to get a product that is discontinued but new. We have had the existing printer for several years and only recently began to act up. Already have a wireless printer with more features but my wife prefers less technology and a printer she feels comfortable using.

This purchased was to replace an identical unit that I have had for 5 plus years. The paper feeding mechanism failed. I had just recently purchased 2 large color and 2 large B&W ink cartridges as backups for the ones that were about to run empty. I was very satisfied with the quality of the unit that just died and I had 4 new ink cartridges already on hand. I searched the internet for a new identical printer so I could use the ink on hand and also know I would be satisfied with the product. A new printer with 2 new small sized ink cartridges included for $90 delivered price. What's not to like?

When I first bought this printer several years ago, I did so only after much research. My goal was to find the best easy-to-use multi-function printer at the best price. I also wanted it to fit my desk's printer slide-out. The Canon Pixma fit all my requirements. I used it daily for my work with four non-profits and for personal use. It's been there to help me create programs and spread-sheets and print the occasional photo. It has helped me make posters, stationery and greeting cards. After all this use, one day recently the printer suffered a fatal crash. My experience has been so positive that I wanted to replace it with the very same make and model. Only on eBay was I able to find this older model at a very good price. So, what do I like about this printer? Well, for starters, it's not an HP! All of my previous printers were HP's and I was even "given" one when I bought my last computer package. I hate HP's! Their computer interface is klunky and the ink drying time was often problematic. ..The Canon Pixma easily handles cardstock as it's a "straight" printer and doesn't send the paper through a loop. ..The two ink cartridges are easy to change and I like the quick-drying and overall quality of the ink. ..The scanner is a flat-bed and so-o-o-o convenient and easy to use. ..Routine printing is quick and easy. All in all, for a non-techie like me, this is a wonderful product!!!Read full review
