I am VERY happy with my Canon 5D Mark IV. It raises my photo taking to a whole new level. It is amazing how much flexibility I have now. I am amazed by its low light capability, I enjoy the heft of the body, it doesn't feel cheap and flimsy and it isn't too heavy. A few drawbacks: the Canon RAW Reader is mediocre. I had to subscribe to Adobe Photoshop CC to be able to finesse color and white balance. While the autofocus is great for taking sharp pictures, it sucks BIG for video bcuz anything in the foreground will pull focus. Too many focus points for me. I like having a 1 focal point option to better control focus w/o having to go full manual. But overall, I love it! Controls are intuitive. Since I am shooting professionally, I need a camera that can really deliver sharp images. The camera will pay for itself many times over.Read full review

I just got the Mark4 and was dissatisfied. My review screen has a green tint to it and it is under and over exposing. I tried taking a pic of a waterfall in slow exposure and it won't go past a half second or it will over expose. I have had many Marklll's and they never lasted more than 18 months. Do I just keep getting bad bodies? I'm sending this back for a new one

Was looking at a digital back for my Hasselblad H2. Review not very good for an expensive back. Phase One also out of range. Found reviews on the Canon EOS 5Ds 50.6mp. This camera bridged the gap from medium format, and in addition, I already have several lenses that work perfectly. This camera is Not for Video, It is an extremely wonderful camera for landscape & still photography. It is easy to use and comfortable to hold and carry. This is a camera to keep.

I have been shooting with Canon cropped sensor cameras (18mp) and iPhones (8-12mp) since 2006. I was debating between upgrading to this 5D or a mirrorless. The 5D (obviously) won because the "affordable" mirrorless cameras were the early models with picture quality, lense availability, and battery issues. The image quality and features of this 5D Mark IV are superb. However, it does take some getting used to, as there are many new functions and the layout is different. The weight is not much more than my other Canons. Definitely takes good quality low-light photos.

I've been shooting with canon for 10+ years. I love the 5D, but this mark iv has just surpassed my expectations. The WiFi, the 4K video, the touch screen, the ISO!!, video editing, and photo rating right there on the camera. Love it! Worth the upgrade. Cons: It's still a heavy and complicated camera. There are many small easy cameras on the market that are doing a great job delivering photo quality. My husband and I compete between his Pixel 3 and my 5D Mark IV...generally speaking the Pixel does the job, but there are sometimes when the pixel doesn't cut it. The manual options on the Mark IV are tough to beat.
