Pro's: Have yet to use, but my initial impression is good. The toilet top snaps into place and is firmly held by the bucket lip....great fit. The toilet lid also snaps firmly into place. Its all plastic and the toilet lid is a bit on the thin side, but, its a toilet, not a chair. The bucket handle swing is not interfered with by the toilet seat...as it would be with a normal 5 gallon bucket, so, everything is designed to work together. I plan to use the Loo with scented trash bags and pine kernels and pine saw dust as recommended on You Tube videos. This is supposed to create an odor free composting toilet. All in all I recommend the product, its a good value simply because the top, bucket handle, and bucket are made for a perfect fit, and the quality is good for the price. Cons: It was quite hard to remove the toilet top from the bucket until I realized that there is a slot on the toilet base. To remove the toilet top from the bucket starting at the slot makes it much easier to separate...once I figured that out removal was easy.. Read full review

I am a 75-year old woman with a broken kneecap and my building has just been replacing our galvanized pipes with copper which has involved removing and reinstalling our toilets for several hours a day. I bought this because I have a weak bladder and do not move very fast to go and use other toilets in the building. This fit the bill. Since I live alone I did not even use a bag inside the bucket or the deodorant that converts everything to liquid. After I peed I just put the TP in a small plastic bag and tipped everything down toilet, washing the bucket out well, when the toilet was reinstalled (not the plastic bag which I rinsed out and put in the garbage), There was no smell in my bedroom but you might want to use the bag/deodorant when you do your once or twice a day business. Fortunately I always do that early morning or late evening when I had a toilet. This is the same height as my regular toilet, the opening was a little smaller, but even when I couldn't bend my leg before and after surgery, because I was in a full length leg brace, I was able to manage as well as did with my regular toilet, I am English and remember having potties under our beds to use in the night in the days when we had outside toilets so I was comfortable with what I did. Some of my friends wrinkled their noses at the idea but, with the lid down, could not smell anything in my bedroom.Read full review

I'm old, this is for my room in a rooming house. We have 11 renters to 3 toilets. My last portable toilet didn't have a flat bottom on the part one lifts out to pour what needs to be poured out. It also didn't have a cover to keep the smell out of the hallway. EBay has sellers that sell patches. I use them a lot with glue dots also available on EBay. The bag shown is a normal inexpensive 13 gallon one. I do pour a little bleach in it for smell control. I added the black stick on square items near the bottom to keep track of where my foot needs to go to get the seat off.

This is a great idea for keeping your camp site sanitary. I just wish bags and chemicals were available with it. But sawdust will help the odor I got mine for emergency as I live in hurricane area and have been without water for flushing for several weeks. If it happens again I will be better prepared.

It is surprisingly built sturdier than I thought it would be. It does the job quite effectively. Would be great for camping, or home emergencies, or anywhere that you have enough privacy to do your duty! I would recommend it.
