After hitting it today, it is easy to hit. Granted I'm in a slump to a degree with a slight fade as of now, but should get that corrected with this club hopefully. The FT-3 has a little more sound than the newer FT-5 and FT-i, but after hiting the FT-5 a couple of weeks ago, I like the FT-3 a little better. Granted the FT-5 was at Dick's sporting good store and the DT-3 was at a driving range. None the less it hits good and sounds ok (I don't care about sound, just results but some of you guys get hung up on the sound :) ). All in all it is a good club. The best draw driver that I have yet is the Cobra HS9. It is loud but hits great (for me anyway, one of my buddies has one and I hit it all the time, I'll hit my Callaway now though.) Seriously, The Callaway is good and when I get my driver kinks worked out it should last me a while before I need to replace it. Clubs looked at/hit: Cobra HS9 excellent club Titleist 905T (own one, it hits good when I'm not fading/slicing it? Taylor Made Burner hit as sports store, great hitting club in my opinion. Callaway FT-5 good hitting, liked the TM Burner better though. Settled on Callaway FT-3 Draw since it was $40-50 cheaper than the next club. hits good, not disappointed in it.Read full review
The Callaway FT-3 Tour Draw biased driver lives up to its reputation as a forgiving club for off-center shots (which tends to happen to me quite a bit). When I bought mine, it came with a Pro Force V-2 stiff flex shaft which also helped close the face of the club upon impact. Being a lefty, I tend to have a pretty wicked slice and this club helped me control that a little better. I still have the slice, but it is not as bad as before, and when I do hit the ball flush, I instantly know it with this club. I'm not goig to jump for joy and claim that this club is the answer to my golfing prayers, and it didn't take 10-20 strokes off my game like some other people claim. Its not the club, it is practice and repetition that does that. Nevertheless, this is a good club and if you can find one for around $100-$150, I would definately recommend buying it.Read full review
Purchased a supposedly new Fusion FT-3 Driver from Igidistribution, Kelvin White, 907 Nova Circle, Stockbridge, Ga 30381; Didn't get club; filed complaint; he didn't have it to sell, would return money. Instead, two weeks later got club in Mail. Phoney club. Cloned Fusion Driver. Shaft had been tip trimmed instead of butt trimmed. Made it a stiff, even though it was a regular on the shaft. Additionally, the cloned head was convex, rather than flat as the FT-3 driver is suppose to be. I had ordered a draw bias. With the improperly trimmed shaft and phoney head, it's impossible to hit anything other than a dead slice. Had two pros try it. Both amazed at how wacky it was. Very clever imitation. Head lettering was different size font than Calloway. Mistrimmed shaft evident on silver band being misplaced about 2 and 1/2 inches from real thing. Head cover too small. Neck shorter than real thing and almost impossible to get on head. Amended complaint. Vendor apologetic, didn't know clubs could be cloned. Promised rebate. Sent club back, with return receipt requested. Vendor acknowledged receiving club and promised rebate. Never received. First time burned on E-Bay. Vendor had good rating. Basically, whole process a rip off from the get go. Not much fun, and, little support from E-Bay other than listing it on the dispute console. Currently out $283 for this less than wonderful E-Bay experience.Read full review
The new Callaway Fusion FT-3 is a great club. I researched this club to the point of obession and once I found it on ebay at some great prices I had to have it. I lost two bids and almost gave up on it. The club is in great demand. I finally won a bid, received it in a matter of days just in time to go on a golf trip, I didn't even have the chance to take it to the driving range. We got to the course and I removed the plastic which it came in. On the first tee box, my first swing of the day, I drove it about 280 yards. A pretty good drive for me, but nothing to get too excited about. After warming up a bit I noticed my drives were straighter and my distance was improving. In a stretch of six holes (all driving holes), all were over 300 yards and in the middle of the fairway (no lie). My longest was a whopping 356 yards on a 525 yard par 5, which left me 169 yards out. I was so pumped up and full of adrenalin that I pulled out my nine iron and came up short. To sum it up; I believe this club will change my game dramatically. I'm about a 9 or 10 handicap and with this club I can see myself lowering that very soon. I recommend this club to all levels of golfers. It comes in a variety of club head set-ups, Neutral, Draw or Fade which allow you to take advantage of your natural swing. The distinct sound it makes off the tee box will turn heads. I naturally draw the ball so I went with a 9.5 Neutral to promote more of a straighter drive, but allowing me to still draw when necessary. The shaft of choice was the Aldila NV 65 Stiff shaft. All-in-al I love the club. Heck, if it's good enough for Phil, it's good enough for me!Read full review
This is by far the best driver I've ever used and I still use this driver today. This driver still competes with the newer 400 and 300 dollar drivers if not exceeds the performance of them. I just picked up another one on ebay for about 40 bucks total. This driver has a solid feel when you hit the ball. I'm a single digit handicapper with about a 105-110 mph swing speed and the callaway ft-3 aldila nvs stiff 55 gram shaft has excellent control. Before using this driver I was a poor driver of the ball, but this driver is easy to hit. In fact its the easiest club to hit and the best club in my bag. In fact I bought the driver for the shaft to put in a 8.5 degree tour ft-3 head. I just find the 9 degree hard to fade off the tee when needed, but thats the only complaint. If its hard for you find the fairway buy an 11* , that's how I was introduced to the ft-3 by using my sisters R flex 11* draw bias driver, you wont miss the fairway. You can probably find one on ebay for an amount equal to the taxes on a new 400-300 dollar driver! What do you have to lose?Read full review
