I never really thought abought using a bipod before, but when I received this one it was vary easy to install and I realized it would work well for shooting off the bench, which is why I bought it. I also thought how well this would work if I did not have a bench to use. I am glad I got this size, it bring the front site up high enough to get on target. when I do not want to use the bipod it takes less than a minute to remove or install. so it's more usefull and convenient than I ever imagined.

I had a barrel mounted bi-pod on my Marlin riffle for a year or so, until a gunsmith friend informed me that it will interfere with the harmonics of the firearm. I went on to Ebay with my mind set on a Harris bi-pod purchase, but my daughter's fiance had recommended the Caldwell for a bit less money. I have shot a firearm with a Harris mount and now my own outfitted with the Caldwell mount. I have to say that the Caldwell XLA 403215 is quite nice, and that the adjustable legs are easier to adjust than the more expensive bi-pod's are.

The caldwell bipods are a great value. I really like the adjustment notches on the legs they are designed not to slip especially when firing a large recoiling rifle. I would recommend these bipods to anyone that shoots

Would not fit my .223 Mini 14 or my 9mm M-1 Carbine. Recommend this fact be on product listing to save customer returns. I traded it for ammo.
