I used this to run coax cables from my attic antenna to 3 TV's/DVR's in my house. I already have another one (same model) which I've been using for years for cable TV, also for 3 TV's/DVR's. In order to use the amp, you'll need to plug this into a normal AC outlet...in my case, both of mine are plugged in. I haven't experienced any noise or picture degradation, as the built-in amp is not a high powered one (I've heard the high powered ones will introduce noise or picture artifacts, so I avoided those). In all cases, I used RG-6 Quad-Shielded coax cables, as most of my cable lengths are in the 75 foot range.

Nice amp/splitter, compact size and cord on the AC adapter is longer than I expected. Provides good signal boost from our HD Antenna to all 4 TVs, some are up to 80 feet from splitter.

I had to extend both the cable and satellite feeds at a nightclub and resort. I tried several cable amplifiers but only this model gave me the range boost I needed in both cases. Huzzah!
