This stand is worth the $30 I paid for it. It's a budget stand - not as sturdy as a PDP800, but then it is half the price. It is decidedly wobbly with a 20" crash ride on it, but it supports a 14" crash fine. It has a plastic wing nut that incorporates the plastic sleeve, and it doesn't feel like it will respond well to being worked hard. Overall, I'm happy with what I got.

The Height clamp is very week. It holds for vertical force enough, but just enough. Rotational resistance is almost nonexistent. Needs a clamp even more that heavier brand stands that have clamps!! The wing bolt that holds the boom arm does so by drilling into the arm. Good designs pull the arm against the clamp surface using an eye and wing nut design. The wing bolt design requires more tightening and thus more force on the female threads that the wing bolt goes into. This makes the chances of the female threads stripping a lot higher. The boom arm has no counterbalance so don't use this for anything more than a small splash cymbal. Also, have the boom in-line with a leg to prevent falling over. This is not a stand that will hold up to allot of kit breakdowns. It won't take long for the mechanical components to strip or break. I use mine for a 10 inch splash. The stand just fits in between my bass drum and another stand and is "trapped" so it can't fall over. Works OK for what I want, but I sometimes have to readjust it so the cymbal is back where I want it. My kit has been in our church for years in the same place so I don't ever need to break down the kit.Read full review

i thought by double braced it kind of meant heavy duty.. i bought a really beautiful nice Pearl boom stand for $20 bucks and needed a couple more stands for a splash and a crash cymbal.. this cymbal is really light duty and not well constructed.. it might work for the splash cymbal, but i will need to replace it shortly as it doesnt seem like its gonna hold up too long.. i would recommend looking for a more heavy duty stand even for general use..

This is inherently a good stand but it is not as robust as a profesional grade stand, which cost much more. The height may also be a limitation for some. I would not recommend a large cymbal at the extreme end of the arm as it may tip. I use it with my electronic drum set where it works fine. I have another that I use to supprt a 14" crash and it works fine there too unless some rambunctious bass or guitar player runs into it.

This stand is cheap and the boom only move a certain distance only, Its too light and will fall over if used with a cymbal with any wait.
