I have used this foundation for years........have not found anything comparable to this product regardless of the price. It has excellent coverage, enough moisture so that you do not get a dry effect with your makeup regardless of how light the moisturizer is that you use. If does not take a lot of it to get the perfect coverage effect you need. I like all of their products, but especially this foundation. I have tried other products from time to time, but always come back to this liquid foundation - it is my favorite and my Mother also uses it. It is not available in the department stores where I live, so I was so glad to find it on ebay.
The Countess Isserlyn is perfect for mature skin and especially dry skin. The foundation is very lightweight like fine oil. Yet the foundation is so high pigmented it deposits heavy color with out heavy weight. This lets me have the full color and blended foundation with out the caked thick foundation look. The foundation comes in so many shades they are wonderful to have more than just one shade. The cost of the foundation at retail is $56-$58 so getting it on eBay at the much lower price I can buy 2-3 bottles for what one would have cost me retail priced. I use the lighter shades 70 ½, 80 ½ ,90 ½ for highlighter applying one of these to forehead, eyebrow bone areas and lower sides of my cheeks. These shades are for very fair skin but they also serve to give the highlights with out the powder to add that caked look. They are so bendable they blend and smooth into other colors well while applying them. I use the higher numbers like 94 and 96 to deposit rose color to cheeks and chin and sides of forehead. These shades are pink toned they may appear darker in the bottles but they apply lighter on skin. These serve for blusher, dark circle concealed, eyelid base and lip base. I normally wear 90½ base and 94. I put a little 96 wherever I have dark circles and a scar. It only takes a little bit to dot and blend of this foundation. They really apply color and go a long way. If I can have really smooth good color and even skin tone then I feel much better about my appearance. I normally feel more confident to even apply eye shadow and more lip color if my facial skin looks good. With this foundation I can apply it like I always do then mascara, eyebrow color, lip color and I look so much younger and healthier. My complexion is brighter due to the foundations brighteners in the pigments. Yet I still get the fair colors and natural pink tones with out heavy powders. When I get done I will lightly dab a soft shimmer pink and white highlighter powder over cheeks chin and forehead. That sets the make up longer and gives a nice sheen. Would I buy this again? Yes. I want more colors for when my face gets some sun. I am already waiting to buy the 92½ and 82½ and 76½. All I am waiting for is more money and I will buy them if they are still available. I do not think this make up will be carried any longer so I want to stock up on it. One bottle of foundation lasts a year for me it goes a long way. And I love it I have tired many foundations but with my age they were very unflattering and made me look older. It would have cost my about $300.00 to have gotten these 5 bottles of foundation I have bought so far for hardly nothing in comparison to that. I hope I can get the other shades soon before they are gone. I have tried Merle Norman Luxiva liquid it settles in lines and is greasy. It sit onto top of the skin making me look older. The cream foundation from Merle Norman I quit using it years ago because of the heavy caked look. I got way to old for that. I bought many other foundations they seem to be the long lasting formulas. These were like wearing liquid latex. They were hard to blend, enlarged pores and very harsh on older skin. Made me look much older. I tried Aloette and Revlon, Almay, even Estes Lauder. I am to old for those types of foundations they settle in lines bad. I have tried moisturizing ones they were greasy on top of the skin creeping in lines. Some changed colors while wearing them. Countess Isserlyn never has done that.Read full review
I have used Alexandra de Markoff Countess Isserlyn Liquid Foundation for more years than I would like to admit. In all the years I have never found another liquid foundation that can measure up to Alexandra de Markoff Countess Isserlyn Liquid Foundation for coverage and for the beautiful glowing finish it creates. I have always received many compliments about my skin (most recently from my doctor) and this has not changed even as I have aged. I strongly believe the lovely finish from Alexandra de Markoff Countess Isserlyn Liquid Foundation contributes a great deal to the many continued compliments I receive about my skin.
I bought the lipstick, not the foundation; AdM products are exceptional! Without fail, someone remarks on my "beautiful" skin every day, and my skin is terrible, so AdM is the only product I've used for the past 25 years. The foundation is top quality and covers any and every flaw. A woman was talking to me at an event a few evenings back, and in the middle of the conversation she remarked, "Your skin looks like porcelain." I'm telling you ladies, Alexandra de Markoff is your answer to all skin problems!
Love this product and have been using it for more years than I care to mention. I love the way it glides so smoothly onto my skin and how it covers any imperfections that need covering. There's nothing I "don't like" about this product. As far as I'm concerned, this makeup, which was made in the 1920's for movie star actresses, is still "alive and kicking" and is superior to most of the new products out there on the market!! I will continue to buy it from ebay.
