The size is just right for those frozen pizzas and other items for two in the grocery store. We can heat them in our smaller convection oven and save money by not heating up our big stove for a small serving meal for two. I like the big handle and the two grill shelves which are designed for the metal tray to slide beneath the grill to catch any food spills. It has a final spill tray catcher underneath the bottom of the oven to catch any other spills as well. Finally we like the shiny stainless steel look of the oven with its full window to view whats cooking.

I've had a B&D 4 slicer for years, the door never worked well. This door is much sturdier and better-designed. The door handle is heatproof. There are two racks and a tray, so you can actually fit twice as much as a 4 slicer could. The cleaning tray slips in and out easily. The unit heats fast and seems to cook evenly, although I have only had it for a few days. The walls seem thin but while the top gets really hot, the other sides are very warm to the touch but ok. The door is also silent, which is nice, no click or clang. The controls are different, in that toast has a separate timer knob. The knobs are not textured enough and my fingers slipped on them. Also on the knobs, there is no pointy arrow to set a precise time, there is a wide bar with no indication of where the actual setting is pointing to, so was that 350 or 375 ?; it does make a difference. Also the timer knob seems to run beyond zero (to my eye) yet it does eventually shut off. Also the temperature light has a nice feature in that a red light stays on until you set it back to zero, a nice safety feature. The cord is very short. The overall size is just a bit bigger than my old 4-slicer and easily fit in the same place. The legs have soft tabs at the bottom, it seems to balance or steady the unit better. So other than these small details, the oven works just as I hoped it would and I look forward to many enjoyable meals from it. -added recently: I've made roasted potatoes for 20 years in toaster ovens. This is the first time I've failed - repeatedly - to make an eatable batch because of this ovens terrible controls. The temperature control has started to not stop at 450, but without a click, goes to BROIL, which burns all your foods because the timer is set for BAKE, not broil. The oven is getting hotter and hotter, and it is impossible to set any accurate temperature other than broil - the rest you are just guessing. My breakfasts have been ruined by this item. I don't like it at all any more, and will replace it after the holidays. Without a good temperature control, this is basically useless to me now. I've cooked every day for the last ten years with a B&D toaster oven and this model has convinced me never to buy B&D again. Oh- the tray they give you has a bad coating on it and IT COMES OFF ON YOUR FOOD! Do NOT use the tray they send you!Read full review

It would have been nice if the bottom was latched with a door like most toasters have to be able to clean the bottom easier. The oven is kind of heavy, so that's probably why they didn't. If you use the spill tray at the bottom to catch any food while cooking, the tray blocks the heat coming up from the bottom. The manual says not to use foil in the oven, but I do, in the cooking tray so it is not so hard to clean. If I was using super high temperatures I probably wouldn't use any foil. Seems to bake a pan of brownies just fine without rotating the pan half way through cooking. But with a pizza, you do need to rotate the pizza.

Most serious issue is that the rack is not adjustable. I cannot use it to bake individual banana breads, for example b/c when they rise, they are so close to the overhead heating element that they burn. There is no way that I can see to turn off the unit. I unplug it each time. I am old. Reading the print for the various dials takes some concentrated viewing. I am learning that I must leave foods in longer than the recommended times as the foods aren't getting hot enough. To me, that means the heat settings are inaccurate.

Very user friendly! Fast oven heat up. Size is good for twp people. Toasting has been superb, with even toasting, Could use a recipe book with product, but recipes are easy to find online, as are toaster oven specific bakeware. I have made low carb bread and this turned out well. Looking forward to making casseroles and cakes.
