Admittedly, I have only made one recipe from this book since its purchase, but it was an absolute winner. Other reviews mentioned the 1-2-3-4 white cake as the best white cake ever and I agree. I used it as the cake recipe to make a Wilton character cake recently for my daughter's birthday. Six little girls and their mothers almost finished the entire cake as everyone asked for seconds. The cake was light, moist and delicious. I have thumbed through the rest of the book and the recipes all look delicious and appear to be recipes that I don't have in other baking books. Note that the author does not claim to have created the recipes, but rather to have collected the recipes for the book.
The prefect desert recipes for the down to earth, comfort food pallet. No pretense here, just amazing, delicious recipes. If I could only have one desert cookbook, this may very well be the one I would choose.

This is a fabulous book! I found a recommendation for it in another cook book I purchased. I was very glad to see how many 'gently used' copies were available on ebay and I found the price for the contents to be great. No other dessert book would ever be needed. Highly recommended. Get "Bundt Bliss" which is where I originally found the reference for Classic Home Desserts.
