Originally a two record set, released at the tail end of 1979,Rolling Stone magazine voted it the best album of the 1980's - despite it being a 1979 release! There are far too many Clash compilations so it's best to stick to the originaL ALBUMS with perhaps one Best of / Singles set to cover any gaps! Black Market Clash gathers up nicely a few B sides as well.

London Calling by the Clash is the quitessential punk album of all time encapsulating a mood of the time in Britain supported by disenfranchised teenagers fed up with the disco, pop and progressive rock that was served up by the banal media. The Clash brought a sensibility of style, politics to punk rock but in a proseffional yet raw manner that has been copied many times but never equalled. Strummer remains a hero of mine who died tragically too young. In a world that is populated by the likes of boy zone, take that, louis walsh, cheryl cole, simon cowell, JLS, and a myriad other X factor dross it is wonderful to stick on my ipod, go for a run and blot out the world as I pound the pavement to Cadillac Man and many others...
This is an amazing CD, one of the best Clash CDs in my opinion. All the songs on this album have great guitar parts, keeps you entertained through the whole album. Definately recommended!
Huge value for money, tracks galore, from the Clash's years when a reggae beat joined the punk. One of the few 70's hero's who could actually play and write, Joe Strummers premature death was a loss to todays music industry. Buy and enjoy!
An amazing CD, top quality tracks all edited and remastered to quality sounding music. Just great tracks and one of The Clashes finest CDs... well worth getting for the avid collectors aswell as the average shopper.
