This camera is great! It takes amazing images. It has a really fast burst mode where you can take over 3 shots in one second. It has a super fast shutter speed up to 1/4000th of a second. You can adjust ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance and everything else on it, just like the $6000 DSLRs. And it is at an amazing price! This is the best buy out there. This camera is amazing. It should be selling for 10 times this price! Highly recommend getting one if you get a chance. Canon by far makes the best DSLR cameras out here. You can also interchange the lenses with any of the hundreds of Canon EF or EFS compatible lenses and EOS flashes. Amazing camera!! If you want to be a pro, this is the camera you want to use!

This is a great digital slr. Lot's of options and features, and enough preset shooting configs (portrait, landscape, macro, sports, etc) that I haven't found a need to go to a custom one yet. Beautiful pics! The only catch is that the LCD screen on the back does not really work as a veiwfinder or pre-view screen. When in any of the preset configs, it only works as a settings monitor and as a post shot pic review. It is advertised that in the custom configs you can preview the shot, but it is not the type of preview you may be used to on other cameras. This just means that you have to use the standard view finder all the time, which is a bit of a let down on what is otherwise a great camera.
Enjoyed Canon point & shoot cameras! Used Minolta SLR 35mm cameras as well, so when I went to a digital SLR, the transition was easy. Though I haven't used all of its features, yet. I am looking forward to "playing" with it without the expense of developing film for exposure results! The ability to view photos immediately and delete them if I'm not happy with them is quite a convenience. Took this camera to Italy and amazed at the clarity of the photos I took with its regular lens. Purchased a Zoom lens and even those photos taken were very clear. Having an extra battery really helps, too. Took over a 1,000 photos that were kept after deleting others over a six day trip. I'm not a professional photographer, but the camera sure makes my pix look like one! Thanks.
I have had this for about a month and am still learning but I must say that for outdoor shots or shots that don't require flash, it's awesome. The flash that is built in is not strong enough even for my small living room. I had a powerful flash from a 35mm film camera and I got a flash with the camera when I bought it, both overexpose the pictures if I'm not super careful - part of that still learning thing. One thing I'm disappointed with but am learning to live with is that you can't use the screen on the back of the camera as you take pictures - you are tied to the viewfinder. But I guess that's how it used to be with film cameras and I can live with it if my pictures are good. The thing that may be the deal breaker for me and may require me returning it is that when I use the external flash, on the hotshoe, the shutter tends to stick. I contacted canon and they told me to reset the camera. That worked for about 3 shots, then it was back to sticking, making all the photos blurry and unusable. I bought this camera for work - newspaper reporter - and it is not going to work if I can't use a flash. Overall, it's a good camera. But this shutter and flash thing has me baffled and frustrated. Maybe I just got a lemon and the rest aren't this way.Read full review
So far I love the camera. The auto focus is wonderful but I enjoy putting it on P mode( Program exposure) and playing with all the different styles of basic shooting images. Ie: landscape,Portraits, moving subjects,sports,close-ups,night time.etc.) So far it has been very interesting and fun,I can not wait to take pictures of fireworks. I want to go in to a museum so I can put it on candle lite . So as of right now the camera is very nice, takes a very sharp image, has high settings .It is a very good camera for the price. You definitely get your monies worth. The nice thing about this camera is that you can use the Rebel E F lens that were used on the older 35 mm Canon Rebels. They are interchangeable. This is a huge plus if you happen to own one of the older camera's. The newer lens does have a stabilizer on it that is a great feature. So keep this little bit of info. in mind while looking for your camera. Thank you, BarbRead full review
