I purchased the 13 degree Octane Tour Regular tour shaft, three wood. It is a little difficult to hit as the hossel at the base of the head makes the club stiffer than a normal regular shaft. When it is hit correctly, the flight of the ball is lower and you get more top spin. It is difficult to hit a higher lofted shot with this club, but I like it. I am still learning how to hit it. If you hit it on the toe, the ball will tend to fade or move to the right of the target line. Again, I am learning how to hit it. I am about a 14-15 handicap and 68, so I do not have the swing speed I use to have, probably now around 90 mph. Nice looking club, but not for everybody.
That Tour Octane 3 metal wood is the best club I have ever owned... The 5 metal wood is great as well... Might not golf without it.. So good I bought two just in case.. Just swing it smooth and let the club do the work..The ball just explodes... Almost too easy to work, just be subtle.. And the smaller head just seems so much easier to hit off the deck than with the larger faced clubs.. Lot's of eagle putts lately..
This was a bit harder to get used to than a tour edge exotic 5-wood. But when I began setting the face slightly open at address things improved dramatically. Club and shaft sure look good and I like the head size tremendously. Pretty sure in a few more practice sessions I will be banging this thing out there with good ball flight control.
a pretty good club to hit from the fairway with good distance and control

Everything about this purchase was great except for the club. I am a true believer in Callaway products...I am also a pretty good golfer...76 this morning with a witness, but I find that this club not only feels hard at impact, but it is very difficult to get any loft with it. Even hitting it off of a "T" does not get much air. I would think those with a swing speed of 120mph would be better suited for this...mine is 112mph and just not enough.
