I purchased this microphone to record YouTube video game commentaries (Let's plays) with my USB tube mic preamp. The sound quality is excellent, with good tone quality. Large diaphragm microphones are sensitive, so try not to use a weed-eater while recording. If you can get the room fairly quiet, it's good enough. A splatter-shield (pop filter) is a must, particularly if you have a 6 ounce lisp voice. I particularly liked the black chrome color, glossy, yet subdued, it really looks great. These exact microphones are made by a single manufacturer, but labeled with various brands, so observe what you are price comparing..you may actually be comparing apples to apples in many cases in this price range. Speaking of price range...The quality is far in excess of what you'd expect for the money. I literally sound like an AM radio announcer, and the presence is *right there*..One of these very well may find it's way to the Radio desk for some experimentation on my Ham rigs.Read full review
I use these Coneaut Audio metal products to develop Beta circuits for improvements on German Vintage Microphones like M49. I scale the head-basket dimensions down in my calculations and have been very successful using Asian products to enable high end Microphone circuit design.
