I was disappointed only by the AM reception which is supposed to be great. But the features and other bands work well. The unit is bigger than I anticipated but the built in handle makes it manageable.

Radio was a little larger than i wanted but it does pull in AM stations better than my previous radio. FM reception is good but not great. Overall, a quality product that does the job.

First of all the antenna is junk and the speaker junk also for the price I paid. And the American designed and engineered product out of California is made in china. I have a 4 year warranty and just can't wait for it to fall apart. Other than that it will do. Just remember c crane radio's are made in china not California their headquarters.

I'm very favorably impressed with this radio. It is particularly good at getting stations, and it's easy to tune them in. The sound is clean and clear. It would be nice if it were a little more musical sounding, but for the size and price of the radio I would not expect it to be as good as it is. Also, mine arrived second hand and broken. C. Crane repaired it for a very reasonable price, and they didn't waste any time over it, either. It was a very positive buying experience.

This is my third C Crane radio, but the first 2E model I've purchased The first two had the TV band which I never had any desire to use. This VHF amateur band is much more practicable during an emergency. The first CCRadio I purchased approximately back in 2003 went bad after about 2 years. I purchased another new CCRadio to replace it. The second one went bad about a year and a half. I sent it to CCrane company for repair which, as I recall, cost $65 plus shipping back to me. That repair only lasted about three month, and then it quit working again. At that point was I was somewhat disgusted with the CCrane radio and didn't purchase a replacement. Along comes this 2E model with the VHF Ham band. I decided to try out this new model. Hopefully it will function longer than the first two CCRadios purchased years ago. They worked great...when they worked. Great sound. Excellent tuning and reception. Had the first two CCRadios I had experience with lasted longer than they did, this new model would have been awarded 5 stars. We'll just have to see..... *I just went to the Manufacturer's web site to register this new CCRadio. The manufacturer is selling this radio for $169.99 plus $12.99 shipping! I should have bought this radio from the manufacturer!Read full review
