Black and white musicals of the 1930s are often great fun, sometimes based on well-written comedy and sometimes based on pure silliness. This film has both. The musical numbers staged by Busby Berkeley are part of the silliness because they contain hundreds of people on numerous levels. It would be impossible for "My Forgotten Man," one of the longest musical numbers, to be done onstage, especially the section done in the rain. The cast is perfect, and I especially enjoy Ginger Rogers doing a verse of "We're in the Money" in pig latin. Joan Blondel has some nice moments of regret for her gold-digging activities and for her vocal and dramatic moments in "My Forgotten Man." It's fun to see the know-it-all men get their comeuppance too. The special features, especially one starring one of Charlie Chaplin's wives, range from charming to bizarre, and I enjoyed them as much as the film itself.Read full review

I love the cast! Ginger Rogers, Joan Blondell and Ruby Keeler, along with Dick Powell and others make this one of my favorite classical musicals. One of my all time favorites!

One of my fasvorite movies! Busby Berkley was a master of extravagent movie for the period. Story is so-so, but the musical part, especially the song - "My forgotten man" is one song that will stick in your minds forever. With todays economy at a low, you can only imagine what the people of this time went through. All I can say is "sit back, get that popcorn ready and be entertained to the fullest."
A little of the past comes to the future, especially the living conditions of the times
