I'm doing a comparison of 3 different Rifle scopes all under 500.00, Athlon 6-24X50, Vortex 4-12X44 and the Burris 6.5-20-50. All three rifle scopes have good glass, as far as on paper they all three are good for the money. I like the coating on the Burris, it holds up so far on my 6.5 Creedmoor recoil, if I had an overall choice of between the three and they are all about the same in price. I go with Athlon, nothing against the Burris I just find that the Athlon is a little more rugged over the Burris. The part I didn't like is, the caps over the turrets are thin, but you have to have a flat tip screwdriver to make windage and elevation adjustments. Overall, for the Money it's a great scope, until you work up to the 2500.00-dollar scopes, and most of us cannot afford them.

I was disappointed that the silver coating was missed around the Front eye piece. The eye adjustment were not smooth at all. I choose scope because it was silver but it is not near the quality of Burris of old. I have been using burris for 40 years and although they say it has lifetime warranty The Quality is just not there for the money.

I believe this is an above average scope but, I think you can buy better for the money. I have a droptine burris scope and I can't tell the difference in glass clarity. This scope feels very light, good glass but only a 1" tube. The ballistic plex is for magnums or fast varmint rounds and u have to use the 14x setting not 20x, what gives with that?? I have it on a 7mm mag. No problems with holding zero. I have found burris to be a good hunting scope and rugged. I think hawke is a better scope for the money and bushnell as good for less money. Just on this model but, I believe the droptine is as good in the burris lineup as well if you can do without the 20x. I have the droptine on a 444 marlin and it holds up just fine.
This is my fifth Burris scope , this also has the most power and will be used for mid to long range target shooting .It very clear , adjustments are precise and a great price. I have other major brands, but I keep going back to Burris !!. 2- 3-9 x 40 = Woods Hunting 2 - 4.5-14 x42 = Varmint & Target 1 - 6.5-20 x50 = Target
