I bought this book because it was a favorite with my kids and I wanted to share it with my grandkids and nieces. James Howe's Bunnicula Series is one of the best kid's series I've read and my kids all loved it. It has so much humor and of course, most kids just love animal stories that are told by the animals from their point of view. I've finished reading Bunnicula to my niece who is seven years old and though I did have to explain a few things, she really liked it. I bought several copies through Ebay because I plan to send a set of the series to my grandsons who live several states away. The oldest will be able to read it for himself and maybe even to his younger brothers, and I'm sure they will enjoy it. The story is supposedly written by a dog named Harold, and is about a bunny that his family found at a Dracula movie. The bunny's coloration makes it look like he is wearing a cape, and the family cat, Chester, who reads a lot of books at night and has an overactive imagination, becomes convinced that Bunnicula is a vampire bunny because the vegetables in the house keep turning white. Chester is determined to "save" the family from the evil vampire bunny... I think that most kids over the age of 7 or 8 will will enjoy these books, and any parent who reads them to their children will also get quite a laugh from them...Read full review
I bought this book for my grandson as a stocking stuffer and was very happy with the purchase. I read it first and thought my imaginative grandson would enjoy it--he did! It is a fun story about a dog who wants to protect his human family from the vampire rabbit whom the family has named Bunnicula (Bunny Dracula). Of course, the animals can speak to one another and make comments about their human charges. It's humorous and parents would enjoy reading it to their children. In my estimation the book is good for 5-10 year olds.
Great buy😀

"Bunnicula" by Deborah Howe, James Howe and Alan Daniel is a favorite chapter book among children. In this humorous animal fantasy book, the Monroe family finds a bunny in a movie theater and names the animal Bunnicula. Chester the cat suspects Bunnicula is a vampire rabbit. Children in elementary school will enjoy reading this funny mystery story.
A wonderful book. I read it as a child and bought it to share with my children. If I have the chance I would recommend to anyone.
