I have always kept a fax at home even though it's a dying technology. I had a business grade one before this which became too expensive to fix when all the rubber dried up. This refurb unit costs less than the parts to fix mine If I fix it. I don't like the paper path through the Brother, but the rest of it, and it's ruggedness meet the need. This is not a Mickey-Mouse machine and that's what I was after. I hope the need for one will continue to erode away until I don't need one at all, but that is not happening as of yet. This machine uses toner, not ink, which is mandatory or I don't want the machine. The paper feed is accurate and feeds dog-eared and wrinkled documents with few mis-feeds and I'm happy with it. I'm happy with it even though I only use it 2-3 times per month.

I had my last one for 13 years with heavy use. It finally stopped working several weeks ago and I bought this used one. It arrived in great condition with a cartridge. It's running well so far.

Very easy to use, loads 30 pages easily and I have had no problems at all. this machine is much easier to use than the HP I had previously. I number of copies per drum far exceeds any other machines in this price range.
It was a great replacement to the unit I had - exact same :)
