This Boris Karloff early gem is a WW1 Spy movie. Confusing is the word on who is who is who. Girl Agent.(Helene) ...Margaret Lindsay who is recruited by the Germans to spy for them in Britain. Movie Starts with the girl (Lindsay is a nurse in a British hospital falling for a injured Brit Airman. next time we see her she is off in Germany being given a medal for her great spying and she is off to Britain so she can help the elusive master Spy Shiller....capture plans. Helene (Lindsay) is now in Britain in the home of a high placed offical where she meets Valdar (Karloff who is very good) as the scared German hating butler but is he? Both the Germans and Brits test Helene over and over to find who she is really "loyal" too. Karloff we know is also a hidden spy but real twist how far will Helene go to help him when she is there to help the elusive Shiller. The girl is beautiful and never a hair out of place as she shows a great mind and style for spying~Karloff is positively evil looking due to the heavy dark eye shadow he wears so even when we find him the low key Valdar he looks sinister~ great effect~ Better than you think~ I give it a solid 7 out of 10. please remember to vote if you found this review helpful~Read full review
