I bought this to replace my 40 year old Weller soldering station and it does the job. It uses the same TC201 soldering pencil as my old one and the same tips so I don't have to buy new ones. My station is 120V so I use a variac to convert 240V local power. This works well. Like all Weller products this is a good quality item. I am wondering if I can rewire the base station to 240V. Some transformers have 2x 120V windings. They are in parallel for the 120V market and in series for the 240V market. Can I do this with my unit?
