I remembered this book from when my daughter was young and had long "mermaid" hair. The directions and excellent illustrations walk through even the most difficult looking braids. We used this book to pieces. Many years latter, my son's fiance was in cosmotology school and having a lot of difficulties braiding hair. This book showed her how to position her hands to hold the hair while braiding. Needless to say, she has mastered the art of braiding and now people come to her for everything from everyday braids to important occasions hair sytles. This is the best braid book I have ever seen. It is designed so even small girls can braid hair. Anyone can learn how to do it quickly and easily.

I found this book to be the best of its type when my girls were young and wanted to share it with a friend who wanted to learn french braiding but I didn't want to give up our copy! We still love our copy as my girls learn to do their own hair and my friend is learning how to braid her daughters hair now too!
I had this book years ago and used it to come up with hairstyles for my daughter when she was in elementary school. We had great fun trying a new one each day. I was so happy to discover this copy for my granddaughter so that her mom could do the same thing.
This is a good book, but I would have liked to see more variety, not only in the hair "doo-dads" that accompany the book, but also in the various styles. Especially with as picky as young girls are these days, I would have liked to see a nice range of traditional, simple, funky and creative styles.
