It does the job. The enhance knob cuts the frequencies around 1kHz, but adds some noise to the signal. Can be used for tone shaping and leveling during slapping and popping. This is a pretty old unit and there are more transparent and less noisy units on the market, however I find it useful. Got it used for a decent price and I'm happy with it.

Many decades playing instruments, and this is still the best pedal for any bass board. It can’t be beat, imitated, or duplicated. It adds beef, boost, sparkle, cojones, clarity, punchiness, mojo, whatever you want to call it. It makes the bass sound better, clearer, and more articulate. Finger style, slap, pick, it takes all playing styles and makes it better. A must for recording as well. I have many, in case one actually dies. So far, years later, number one is still alive. Boss makes stuff bomb proof, and these are no different. Buy one, you won’t be disappointed.

Got it for cheap and it does what I needed. Only downside is you need a noise suppressor if you want to turn the enhance up. But if you keep the enhance at 3, the level at 5 and turn the treble down (got a hotrod bass) it isn't noticeable. Definitely helps with the volume spikes of going finger style to slap style.
