I reviewed the Bose Cinemate as 'Excellent', because it gave us the excellent sound that we wanted in a smaller package for a small area, but read on if you think it might be excellent in your situation or not. I do not want to mislead... the Bose Cinemate is not for everyone. If you are expecting a gr8, 'SURROUND SOUND', it may be disappointing. We bought our Bose Cinemate to help pump up the sound on our 52" Sony Bravia HD TV. We really like it, but I think Bose went out on a limb calling it 'SURROUND SOUND'. It did indeed really improve the sound of our TV 100% because we have it set in a fairly small sized room, but for larger rooms I would suggest getting a different system all together because the Bose Cinemate would not pack the punch you might be expecting. But if you are just looking for a sound system that gives great sound to smaller areas and that looks gr8 and doesn't take up much space, you will love this system. Bottom line... I simply don't watch enough movies to merit a massive system. So I am very, very, happy with the Bose Cinemate I've got, and would buy another Bose to replace this one if it failed. PROS + Includes a universal remote! This remote can be programmed to control anything (your TV, DVD player) + Set up was insanely easy. + Great for music or TV in small to mid areas + Looks great, doesn't take up a lot of space + Top-level customer support from Bose. This is one of the reasons why Bose products cost more. CONS - No digital input in the US version. - Works best if you have audio out on your TV or cable box (red and white RCA outputs). Otherwise, it may be hard to use the Cinemate for everything. - You will not be able to visually tell how loud the volume is. The Bose system does not cooperate with the volume bar on TVs. - Expensive. TIPS + If you need to control the bass and treble then switch your audio out to "variable" not "fixed" and turn the volume up to about 80%. Now you can shape the sound to your preference.Read full review
wish it had a little more what i call amp power but it more than makes it up in clarity i also enjoy the streamline look as my old unit blocked some of my TV view the sub also fits in a nice little area where my old one was the size of a piece of furniture. My old system was the original Yamaha ysp1 and i had a velodyne sub that will be hard to compete it
Everything was just like described. Works great and great product :). Bose is the best around it has the best sound quailty that I have heard and it's the only speakers I will buy. I would tell everyone I know to spend the extra money and buy the best product. I have a LG surround sound system in my basement and it donsn't compare so Now BOSE is the only thing I would buy. The only thing I wish it had was a volume control I could see so I know how loud it was. Plus BOSE has the best reputation out there.
Didn't think it would sound so amazing. All those other brands, save your money. I'd rather have this used bose set then a new set of another brand. The room shakes with the base which is controllable. Great system plug and play. Fiber sound cable. Totally worth it
