I really like the variety of tools that you get. They have worked well on my bonsai's. The only problem I found with them is that they were opening stiff and were a little hard to work with. I used WD-40 on them and it fixed the problem.

The tools over all over open and close ok, could use some adjusting. The blades have been heat treated which is nice to too. The edges could be filed to true some of them up and a honing. But I won't be using these every day of the week so for the price, there not bad. The case isn't too bad, but I might get a tool roll to put them in. That way I won't have all kinds of Velcro straps and elastic to deal with. They are also coated in oil to prevent rusting, I was pleased to see that even though I'll have to clean it off and coat it with something thinner.

These tools are fine if you are an amateur bonsai enthusiast. Professionals may find them cheap and dull. If your like me who likes to grow a few dozen bonsai as a hobby, then they are fine. If you are a bonsai guru then stick with the high grade Japanese tools.

Good product, especially if you negotiate down the price! Stiff but usable, a little mineral oil or whatever remedies that issue. Dulls fast but re-sharpens easily. B+
