This book may fit my personality and thus warp my view, but it is one of the better books on the subject I have read. It is 400 plus pages, large format with lots of line drawings and black and white photos to illustrate the points. It goes into great detail on the techniques covered. For example, how do you encourage a three to grow that thick massive trunk that suggests age? And more. It has lots of Zen like qualities.
In this second half of John Naka's Bonsai techniques, John begins to get into more specific details in growing the trunk, roots, and branches of a bonsai. This man is a bonsai legend and always presents his instructions clearly and most understandable. This book has more information than the first Bonsai Techniques and therefore is usually more expensive, but in my opinion it is far worth it!
This is the second volume of the John Naka bonsai tip books. It is every bit as great as the first. The wealth of tips on bonsai design, care and lore is astounding. This set is the best reference for bonsai that I have ever come across. I would recommend this set to anyone who is even slightly interested in the art and philosophy of bonsai.
I just stared on the Bonsai world, I had read a lots of books in this matter and the John Naka series( I& II) are the best of all, in this issue (II) you will be close to become a master. The content is clear, and step by step with a lot of advice from the Master Naka. A must to all bonsaist in the world.
The book is good with some decent information. A bit of a wider coverage of species would have made it perfect, Not every one wants a Jinned Pine tree.
