The movie switches between the cartoon style of construction and real life construction helping my child understand what Muck, Scoop, Dizzy and Packer do in a real life on the job setting. It also explains the entire process from plan review to the actual construction of a home or playground. We bought this in hopes that it would help our son understand our upcoming construction project on our home.
My almost 3 year old son loves construction/building. He also loves Bob the Builder. So this was the perfect dvd for him. Since we got it, he has watched it up to twice a day. Along with all the characters he knows and loves, he gets to watch real life construction. He is fascinated by it. Best purchase ever, and I plan on getting the other 2 "On Site" dvds as well. If you have a kid who loves building and construction, this is the movie for him or her! And it's watchable for adults as well, in other words, it does not get on my nerves!!
I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. I like all Bob the Builder DVD's because they teach about teamwork but I especially like the "On Site" series because they also have actual construction crews throughout the DVD working on the projects from start to finish. He has a good understanding now of all the work that goes into houses, roads, parking ramps, etc. and we have conversations about each of them, especially if we see them under construction.
I bought this video because it wasn't just a cartoon. It has both cartoon equipment, and video of real equipment working and building. I will say that it was somewhat slow--my son gets bored with it in the middle. He favors the 'Roads & Bridges' video more.
My newphew loves the on-site ones and my sister-in-law typically will go to the library and take them for a week or so - now he has his own and he loves it!
