1976 first edition hardcover. In great condition. The book is 43 years old. The events as told by John Dean puts the reader right in the White House. It is like you were there in 1974. I was 23 years old at the time and remember the firings and resignations of key players in the cover-up. I remember the Watergate hearings. Fascinating read. I highly recommend it.

Combine with "All the President's Men" for the best true mystery ever. Blind Ambition is the only one of the Watergate books written that openly describes the intrigue, panic, fear and exhilaration of being in the White House at the time. For Woodward and Bernstein, the WH looks like an impregnable fortress. But to those inside, it looked like a giant sieve. This describes the actions and emotions better than any other book in any similar situation.

John Dean pulls no punches in this personal account of the Watergate debacle. Throughout the book he chronicles his own culpability along with the other blameworthy co-conspirators. Many details of the events show how corrupt any one person or group of people can be. If you enjoy political history this book is highly recommended.
