If you dig Film Noir, you might like this movie. It has all the charm of one of those old 30's films where a hard drinking private dick gets called in to catch the bad guy and to 'make some sense of this crazy world'. The only difference is that this is set in the future where flying cars and artificial humans roam. The protagonist is played by a charming Harrison Ford in his prime and features a menacing antagonist played by Rutger Hauer. The movie is a little slow at times, but the atmosphere and the gripping story moves this flick into cult classic status.
We already own this movie but in VHS format and it is dying so I bought the DVD to replace it (accelerated decrepitude). The Director's cut version is way better (in my opinion) than the "voice-over" TV version.

Blade Runner - a milestone for Sci-Fi movies - following Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". Harrison Ford - as Deckard - a bounty, ex cop - his job is to "retire" androids - human "replicants". A dirty job. Sean Young - as Rachael - a beauty - a replicant too. Seductive ... too seductive for Deckard. Rutger Hauer - as Roy - a top-of-the-line combat model human replicant ...strugling for his (replicant)limited lifespan in direct conflit with Deckard (the bounty). at the end ...still a question ...the bounty Deckard (Harrison Ford) is human or a replicant ? what does it mean to be truly human ? Deckard: "Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got?"..."I didn't know how long we had together. Who does?"
I was satisfied with the product
